HOMEMADE NO GRATE LAUNDRY SOAP

No more grating soap for laundry detergent .Yes you heard right ,no more grating. I love my old laundry soap but hated having to grate that hard bar of soap. With this new recipe I found I don't have to. It works just like the old one with mostly the same ingredients. It is so much easier and faster then the old one. You will need.
1 gallon container
1/2 cup arm and hammer washing soda
1/2 cup borax
1/2 cup liquid Castile soap
2 tablespoons baking soda ( optional )

Bring half a gallon of water to a boil, add your other ingredients   . Whisk till dissolved then pour into your gallon container. Add enough hot water to full the container. That's it  your done.  Use a 1/4 of a cup to 1/2 cup depending on how big your load is.

  1. I like the hook for the measurer!! This does sound easier but how does it work on grimy farm clothes? I went back to Tide because hubby's clothes were getting dingy.

  2. It works on my husband overalls from work. Since he works on jets they are always covered in jet fuel. For whites I do use a little whitener product and hot water.

  3. Do you have regular city water or well water? I don't know if it makes a difference or not.

  9. I love this idea! I'm printing this, because I often wondered what I would do if we didn't have homemade goat's milk soap to make ours now. I love the idea of the hook on the container too. Thanks for posting this Michelle.

  11. I love my homemade laundry soap! It does great even with my hard well water. I've been using for over a year now and will never go back, plus you can't beat how much money you save making your own. Thanks for sharing on the Homestead Blog Hop!
