Old Town in San Diego

Rick recently took me to San Diego for my birthday. We had a great time. I wanted to share some of the sight we saw. So here is our trip in pictures.
We stayed at a 40s hotel.
                                                         Old town museum.

                                                                      Early 1800's restaurant.

                                                            Telegraph desk.

City Hall held three offices. The  Judge's office
                                                                   Mayors office.
                                                                         Sheriffs office
                                                                         Jail

                                                          I wonder who died?
Spanish home. There's a court yard in the middle with room on either side of it.

A fire ring in the middle of the living room. That's one way to keep warm.

                                                                      Well
Old time stables. A cowboys would live in the stable with the animals.

Rudey's Old Time Store. We found a lot of the old time candies and other foods. They had homemade jam , jellies, Biscuit mixes and pancake mixes. They even had homemade spices. and a course they had all  the items a settler may need. I found some great dark bottles for my vanilla. Rick got to taste some of the candies the settlers ate.

This poor post is getting a little long. So I will post on the Waverly House tomorrow. It is known to be the most hunted house in the U.S.

  1. This brings back memories!! Used to love to eat at Casa de Bandini in the center of the Old Town area, then walk off our meal by looking through the shops and Museum there. They've fixed it up a lot from when we first started going, it's nice to see this area being preserved. Hope you have a great time in San Diego. Go to the Point Loma Lighthouse if you get the chance. Pretty out there!
